Hi,
Newbie in zenoss so please excuse if any question is obvious or stupid for experienced folks....
I have a few old machines that we still need to run for a good 8-12 months before we can upgrade them. When I add/model these linux machines I get most of the components except processes, which is quite important.
Sorry I'm no snmp expert, so just used a conf file from a working RedHat machine, here it is:
----------------------------------------------
syslocation "Our Office"
syscontact help@xxxx.com
sysservices 0
com2sec notConfigUser default public
group notConfigGroup v1 notConfigUser
group notConfigGroup v2c notConfigUser
group notConfigGroup usm initial
view mib2 included .iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2 fc
view all included .1 fc
access notConfigGroup "" any noauth exact all none none
proc master 1 1
view systemview included .1.3.6.1.2.1.1
view systemview included .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1.1
view systemview included .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021
view systemview included .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1.6.0
----------------------------------------------
On the clients, the net-snmp version is 5.1.3.1, I tried to update it but I found myself in a never-ending cycle of dependencies :(
When I model the device on these I see this message which is different from other linux boxes (which can successfully provide process info)
WARNING zen.ZenModeler: No process information from hrSWRunEntry .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.4.2.1
uname on the client returns:
Linux
Any idea if/how can this be fixed
Thank you

I would suggest that you schedule a maintenance window, do a backup if possible, then update with yum update -y, and put in a very simple snmp conf file with no restrictions!
