I have been doing survey of zenoss for finding out useful OSS monitoring tool.
does anyone knows the information about zenoss below
please tell me the detail, I have been looking for the web site, but I havent understand or cant find the answers...
1. dose zenoss proviede the NMS ( like the picture of network structure.)
2. can zenoss monitor WEB server and Application server ( like apache or JBoss) for example, monitoring the speed the downloding files or response time or monitoring some strings.
3. can zenoss monitor DB server (like postgreSQL or oracleDB) for example, monitoring buffer cache hit or CPU time...
4. can zenoss monitor hypervisor of virtual machine (like VMware ESXi) resource of CPU and memory and disk...
5. can we put the script that we create in zenoss and use as monitoring function ( I mean , the same function "custom script")
6. dose zenoss provide the job management function

1. yes "network map" under "infrastructure"
2. yes look at the apache zenpack, and you might be able to finagle the nagios http plugin to monitor jboss for a string.

3. yes, and yes with a commercial license (in general zenpacks that monitor commercial products like oracle are commercial. reference: http://wiki.zenoss.org/ZenPack_Catalog for a list of all zenpacks

5. you can extend zenoss using nagios plugins, zenpacks, and command notifications, please refer to http://wiki.zenoss.org/Category:User_Guide for most of this
6. you're going to have to elaborate on what you mean by "job management"
