Subject: | ZenOss 5.0 ZenPack development questions |

Hello,
have been using/developing ZenOss ZenPacks since 2.5, and got the task to check how much the UI has
changed since 4.2.
Honestly speaking I haven't been using Analytics at all now, I just saw that bunch of ZenPacks using them
right now (the Docker, the Microsoft Windows packs, etc.)
So my humble questions (after spending quite a time with the forums, the official docs, etc.)
a.) Is it really a MUST to have minimum 20G of RAM for 5.0 (my 4.2.5 in VirtualBox lives fine with 2G RAM)
b.) Is there an officially updated documentation on the ZenPacks development (not talking about ZenPackers
on github.com) - For example why/when/how I need to add Analytics support to a ZenPack
c.) Is there an official documentation on the UI (whether there was any improvement on the transition from
Zope+TAL to HTML5/CSS, how can someone change the column layout to a more "user friendlier" one, etc.)
Thanks,

a.) Yes, you must have 20GB of RAM for production to be safe
But 6GB can be OK for development, for example if you are developing zencomand stuff, then you need to start only zencommand daemon and other collector daemons can be down -> you will save RAM
b.) c.) If you have Analytics, then you have commercial version with support -> so you will get the best answer from Zenoss support
Devops Monitoring Expert advice:
Dockerize/automate/monitor all the things.
DevOps stack:
Docker / Kubernetes / Mesos / Zabbix / Zenoss / Grafana / Puppet / Ansible / Vagrant / Terraform /
Elasticsearch
