Hello,

I am having the following events in Zenoss. Counters found corrupted in collection. It's not on all windows servers only on a few. I can see all the component in zenoss (File systems, Hard disk, Interaces, Processor, Windows services) but the graph arent showing and the servers cant be monitored. If I open perfmonitor it show all the data correctly.

I tried rebuilding the counters perfomance using the following script, but that didn't help:

cd %windir%\system32\
lodctr /R
cd %windir%\sysWOW64\
lodctr /R
WINMGMT.EXE /RESYNCPERF
net stop iphlpsvc
net stop Winmgmt
net start iphlpsvc
net start winmgmt

Does someone have the same issue? or does anyone know how to solve it.

Thank you in advance

The two most common causes of this error I've seen with version 6+ is:

a) WinRM listener not set up properly on the affected hosts. From another Windows server on the same subnet as the Zenoss server check and validate that you can remotely query WinRM on the affected server. If so...
b) check the detected volumes on the server. Zenoss 6+ has a bug where it can't handle Cluster volumes when a cluster node is queried (Zenoss can handle cluster volumes at the /Server/Microsoft/Cluster container level, but has trouble at the /Server/Microsoft/Windows container level), nor can it handle the small System partition that Windows creates (shows up on the device as Volume{<insane string of characters>}. Exclude both the ClusterStorage and the Volume{ types in zFileSystemMapIgnoreNames and that should resolve that.

Thank you for your response. But it didnt help. Everything in WinRm is good.

I am still searching for a solution. Maybe it is because the servers are in a different language (Dutch).

Unless you're using pre-6.1.x version of Zenoss, language and regional settings for the server should be much less of a problem. Which counters are reported as corrupted? It should list them in the event message for the server.

This is an example of the details. I have about 8 server with the error (on this server it is 29 but on other servers it is more or less)

I am on version 6.2.1. I dont think it is something in Zenoss not in windows. (the servers are 2008 R2).

This is something i found

So I installed a Server 2008R2 system in Dutch to test, and sure enough, Zenoss is definitely tripping over the language. I was able to replicate the error in your screenshot on my system, so this is definitely an issue. One thing you can try is installing the English language pack and setting the regional settings and all language options for the Zenoss service account (and the service account only) to US English, leaving the server itself in Dutch. If you can log in as the Zenoss user and the interface comes up in English, that should be sufficient. Give that a try (I couldn't fully test it on my end as I can only partially read Dutch, and not enough of the language to actually go through the full conversion for my own service account to English), and see if it helps.

Thank you very much. I appreciatie your help and the effort you put into it. I will try to install the English langauge pack and change the region settings today. I will let you know if it works.

Thank you very much again. You really helped me out.

Hello,

I fixed the problem yesterday. Installing the english language pack and changing the language to english for the winrm user did work. After that everyhting worked fine and i didnt get the error again.
