Zenoss 5 Core - Multiple Zenperfsnmp oddness

I posted this to the old forum but I'm not 100% sure where it ended up so I'm reposting hoping someone here can help.

I'm running zenoss core 5.2.0 with Control Center 1.3.1 and I've altered the application json config to allow multiple instances of zenperfsnmp to run.  There was an old wiki doc on it that also seems to have gotten lost.

So I have 2 zenperfsnmp instances running, under Zenoss.core -> Collection -> localhost -> localhost.  I would assume by running two instances of zenperfsnmp that the two processes would split up the OIDs that both monitor.  However that doesn't appear to be the case, both zenperfsnmp instances monitor everything just at different times.  So with the default poll interval of 300 seconds I see graph points at 00:00:00, 00:01:00, 00:05:00 and 00:06:00.

If I want to split up what each zenperfsnmp instance monitors what is the correct way to do that?  Should I have multiple collections that run different zenperfsnmp instances?

Has anyone tried to run multiple zenperfsnmp agents?  Still trying to figure this out.

This doesn't help solve your issue, but I've experienced the same results when trying to scale out a monitoring service. Both services pull the same info at different intervals.

At this point I'm pretty sure this is due to me using the core version.  Time to get remote collectors working for core.

I watch this with interest - also have the same problem.  Please keep us posted.
