Subject: | Add extra collector instances on Zenoss Core 5 |

I've been told I can increase the number of collectors using the Control Center.
I've attempted to increase the instances setting on 'Localhost application' and 'Localhost service' but it doesn't seem to do anything. The services below the 'Localhost service' don't allow me to change the number of instances.
I think changing the instances number is the correct way to do it as I have done it on the Zope service and its created two of them.
There doesn't look to be anything in the Zenoss configuration pages. I've noticed the ability to create local collectors is now gone.
Thanks
Nick

So how Zenoss scales has completely changed in 5.x. If you need another zenhub, simply add it. If you need another zeneventserver simply add it. Control Center will load balance automatically.
The only time you need to add another collector is if you have a remote network, and this will require a community supported Remote Collector ZP which I don't believe has been written yet.

Hi Nick,
Did you ever get any feedback on this I'm hitting the performance limits of 1 collector and running multiple instances doesn't help me at all. Running multiple instances of Zencommand just resulted in a duplication of the work, not a sharing of it..
Thanks,
Joan
