I have an installation currently up and running on Red Hat 7 (VMware virtual machine).
I'm looking at doing a new installation in a new environment, but to save time, I'm wondering if I can just do a copy/clone of the VM and use that copy to bring it up in the new environment.
Is this a good idea with Zenoss 4.x? Is there a set of commands to do a "full reset" of Zenoss? I'd want to clear out all the nodes, all alerts, etc.
However, I would want to keep the ZenPacks installed, for example, and also any custom rules (for example, I changed the disk alerting rule from something like 95% to 90% and adding a warning at 85%). It's fine if all my groups are gone.
I could easily recreate the alerting rules ("error" sends an email), but that would be nice to keep also, if possible.
Thoughts?
