I found out something strange also. All PCS have the device name as IP in the discovery list. Say, for example I know pc name of IP 10.0.164.22 is IT01. It is in the discovered hardware list. If I try to add a pc by name manually, IT01, Zenoss responds with device already in the list!! So Zenoss knows pc 10.0.164.22 is IT01 but it shows the name of that PCas the IP. No other info on it except a device at that IP...strange...... Anybody have any ideas

Anybody have any input..

If you do a device discovery on your network that has static IP's, what does it show under the Device column IP or actual device name

I even went from v 4.2.5 to 5.1.7 current today with the same issue hoping it would resolve. I just can't seem to get any information from the PCs on our network. Not even the device name.......

Are your Windows devices in your DNS That's what Zenoss uses to translate IP addresses to names - and it will translate them to names if it can.
