I "had" Zenoss setup to notify me of events on the events console and also email me when certain events occurred. Now I have a email notifications of events, but they do not show up in the event console. Does anyone know what might be wrong here

Probably you have done the "Jane" trick and set a filter - probably one that has scrolled off the end of the console GUI
Or you are filtering out certain severities / status
If you are getting the notifications, they must be in there somewhere.
