Following on from the append from ValeruS about his Eaton ZenPack (which looks super).......
There are often appends that say "I'd like to test this ZenPack but have no test environment", or
"has this ZenPack been converted to Zenoss x" or
"This ZenPack is super but I'd just like it do ...... as well"
I sometimes - repeat sometimes - have spare time and I do have various test Zenoss systems. What I typically don't have is examples of the kit that a ZenPack supports; for example, I don't have any Eaton kit.
If folk are asking for ZenPack testing / expansion / conversion, can you offer a test device available over the internet I have a fixed external IP address so, typically, a firewall hole would be necessary to permit access from my Zenoss to your test device.
Don't know whether this would suit anyone It may be a way to get more ZenPacks revitalised and updated.
Anyone else prepared to consider doing the same thing
If you want a new ZenPack written then, sorry guys and gals, but that's a consultancy job on a chargeable basis; but if it is just answering the "does it run on Zenoss 5 question", then perhaps such jobs can be fitted in to spare moments.
What does anyone think
Cheers,
Jane

Nice chatting with you today Jane. As discussed I am looking into the ZenPack publishing process as well as how they are categorized and searched. Also, looking for ideas on what you all think we should do with the orphaned ZenPacks that if adopted would provide value to the current and future community members. Keep this thread going with ideas please.
Cheers!
