Integrator / SyncWeave Workshop open-source training materials
On 4th September 2026 IBM announced that Integrator is being released as an open-source project on GitHub. The open-source version is called SyncWeave
This is wonderful news, and to support the project we are releasing the Skills 1st Directory Integrator Workshop training materials as open-source. The course was written by Andrew Findlay in 2010 because IBM were being slow to produce a course for the new Eclipse-based TDIv7.
It will take a little while to do a proper release, but as a start here are the main documents and setup files exactly as I last used them. We will probably contribute this to the SyncWeave project under an Apache license, or possibly add it to our Open Source Open Training project under the CC-BY-SA licence. The files below are released under CC-BY-SA.
- tdi-course-slides.odp
This generates the projectable slide deck and also the handout booklet: - tdi-course-exercises.odt
This generates the printed exercise guide: - files.tgz and ldap-for-tdi.tgz
These are the setup files for the workshop environment. This is one area that needs a lot of sorting out. The course was normally run using Amazon AWS cloud machines cloned from a master copy, so the files here may not be complete and certainly need updating for current Linux distros. - tdi-course-instructor-notes

An extra exercise for keen students
